Above is a picture of venom I sketched out on the wacom along with all the other images posted recently. Also there is a image that I will be submitting to threadless.com as a shirt design. If you couldn't tell it is cupid as a gangster with a tommy gun. It would be cool to get the design chosen but i'll just submit it and see what happens.

taking a little trip

just a quick color study

I have been doing alot of drawing this past week and decided to do a quick color comp on one of the little sketches. I just wanted to post something on my blog while I finish up the other pieces. I have broken out the pens again and started doing traditional inking. this however is just a pencil sketch with a little photo shop

drawing in the rain

I chose to make good use of my time while this storm is hitting the east coast, so I started drawing and decided to break out the pens and ink this one traditionally. I added the shadows in photo shop real quick. Also while cleaning the studio a little bit I came across some pieces of bristol and I made it a goal to draw and ink something on all of them.

Here are a few sketches that were done recently. The green one is of a friend named Ian. He is in the middle of telling me about a pretty bad caricature that he had of him and his wife, so I decided to see if I could sketch him up real quick because I hadn't drawn him in years. I think it came out well. All of these sketches were done in color pencil, a few of them will be revisited in photoshop or water color

Just some more of the same style I have doing lately. Like before I'm having fun and most of all just happy that I creating some work again.

having some fun and working on samples

In an attempt not to go insane and to obtain work that would actually keep my hand moving I have been working on samples. I like the results so far but I know if I am to get anywhere in this field and in life I must continue to move forward. Take it as you will because the meanings are plentiful. With that said here is my attempt at doing pieces without showing any line work and just making sure the image is legible through value. The poses are quite boring, but I figured I would work my way up to something more involved.

I did this a couple months ago when I got the urge to draw planes and sharks, i did a rough sequential of bad ass shark jetness. I figure if I put the image up here and bring it up then I will be forced to finish and post it.
